Commitment Takes Accountability

Keeping promises to yourself builds character, esteem, and success

"Keeping promises to others builds strong relationships. Keeping promises to yourself builds character, esteem, & success." - The 12 Week Year

Failing to keep your promises is one of the easiest ways to destroy your credibility, break trust, and lose relationships. Not keeping a promise you made to someone else is hard to hide; however, a promise you fail to keep to yourself is seldom known by anyone but yourself.

If you tell yourself that you're going to start reading more, eating healthier, working out, start that business plan, or whatever it is and you don't do it, no one will know about it. This is why keeping promises you've made to yourself is often even harder than keeping promises you've made to others - there's no accountability.

When you've decided to commit yourself to something, let others know about it, don't keep it to yourself. This added level of accountability is a guaranteed way of increasing your chances of success. If you want results, let others you trust in on your goals. Commitment takes accountability.
